Multilingual & English Learners
SESEBA
Self-Evaluation of Supports for Emergent Bilingual Acquisition
The research-backed framework to accelerate language acquisition and literacy from Pre-K through Grade 3 to help districts to support the emergent Dual Language Learners.
The growing gap
More students need support, but most systems aren't built to support them effectively.
22% of U.S. children are Dual Language Learners. They are 50% less likely to reach reading proficiency without proper support.
Why districts struggle
- Limited support for a growing DLL population
- Shortage of bilingual coaches and high teacher turnover
- No visibility into the classroom interactions that drive outcomes
Fixing this requires more than more content. It requires improving what happens inside the classroom.
How SESEBA solves this
